Our History

KC Motor Company was founded in 2008 with the mission to offer a different buying experience. We have developed a simplified buying process, offer top quality vehicles, and focus on purchase satisfaction. After all, nothing is more important to us than repeat customers and referrals.


Decades later, we are not only still committed to this mission, we've perfected it. We are proud to have achieved an exceedingly high repeat-buyer ratio and low employee turnover. We've created an environment where both customers and employees feel valued and respected.

Steve Reid is the co-founder and owner of KC Motor Company. He has been in the car industry since 1988 but has been an enthusiast for anything with an engine since he was a child. Steve has been married to Cyndi since 1997, and they have three children. Their family fun includes boating, riding dirt bikes, and cheering for the K-State Wildcats. (Don't worry Jayhawk fans, you can get a good deal too!) Steve, Cyndi, and their children are active supporters of the Special Olympics.

Josh Rose is the Sales and Finance Manager for KC Motor Company. A seasoned professional with a remarkable journey spanning military service, diverse leadership roles, and a profound impact on operations, he is committed to excellence in every facet of his career.

With 12 years of service in the U.S. Army, including active duty in Iraq, I've cultivated unwavering dedication, adaptability, and resilience. My military experience taught me the value of teamwork, strategic thinking, and effective communication under high-stress circumstances – qualities that continue to drive my success today. Over two decades of operational experience have seen me evolve from a manager to an executive VP, overseeing functions critical to an organization's success. This journey has equipped me with a deep understanding of process optimization, resource management, and strategic planning – skills that have consistently elevated operational efficiency and contributed to sustainable growth.

Currently serving as a dealership manager, I am leading the charge in sales, operations, and financing. My commitment to customer satisfaction, honed through years of diverse experience, ensures that each client interaction is marked by professionalism, transparency, and the pursuit of excellence.
